ASCII Art Generator... Er... What?

This application allows you to convert any reasonably-sized image on your hard drive to ASCII art, which - for anyone who doesn't know - means an image composed of lots of numbers, letters and other symbols. (ASCII stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange. Hey, stop yawning.) You can also choose to make a full-colur image out of a word or text of your choice.
ASCII Art should not be confused with Askey Art, which is a style of modernist painting made famous by Arthur Askey, or Ass Key art, which is a surrealist movement which sought to depict the bottom and its potential for unlocking.
However you need to log in to use it. I know, I know - it's a hassle but please see below for the reason...

Why Do I Need to Log In?

I'm sorry about the Big Brother routine. I actually don't give a monkey's whatsit who you are or what you want to use this page for. I don't use the details you provide for anything and I don't keep a copy of any of the pictures you upload either. The only reason I've added a login to this app is 'cos when I first put it on the web I discovered - quite by accident - that some bastid had been using it to convert illegal and highly offensive images into.... well, illegal and highly offensive ascii-art. Obviously, I am not about to have my webspace used for that sort of thing, so I want to make sure that I have accurate records, so that - if it happens again - I can make life difficult for the individual concerned.
Apart from that though, I won't be doing anything with the information you enter into this form, and any images that are uploaded are usually deleted automatically after use by the script itself, so I don't foresee any privacy worries but if you have any further concerns, please feel free to email me and I'll try and put your mind at ease!
